CMQ for Disability and Vocational Experts
Identifying occupations that workers who suffer from physical or mental disabilities
can still perform is a critically important use of job analysis information.
As with the challenges faced by employers when screening job applicants, disability and rehabilitation consultants can choose to address this problem at a detailed or abstract level of analysis.
CMQ for Disability Applications
The FAQ topic on CMQ for disability provides a more detailed description of how CMQ helps practitioners identify occupations that may be suitable for workers with disabilities.
Detailed Analysis: If the CMQ is completed to describe the work activities an individual can still perform — given their residual functional capacity (RFC) — this RFC profile (measured using the 71- or 23-factor CMQ work dimensions) can be matched against the occupations in our national database using the Description function.
Abstract Analysis: Practitioners can also examine highly abstract dimension scores that are conceptually quite similar to to the DOT Strength and SVP scales by using the 3-factor Data-People-Things CMQ dimension scores in the Description function to identify similar occupations.
